The Court Cards in Tarot

Tarot / About

The Court Cards in tarot are very difficult to interpret, expecially for the beginner. The reason is that they can represent:

  • Situations.
  • A side of someones personality.
  • The way a person behaves.
  • A person.
  • The situation a person is in.
  • A man or a woman, a boy or a girl.
  • Someone that affects us deeply in our lives.

For the most part, we must stop thinking that a certain tarot card always represents a certain person. The same court card can represent me and you, no matter our sexes, our preferences or astrological sign. It is the situation that defines the person. If the situation would be diffrent, you will be defined in a diffrent way.

Man or woman?

  • When Pages and Knights represent persons, they can be of both sexes.
  • When Queens and Kings represent situations or a side of ones personality, they might represent both sexes.
  • When Queens and Kings represent persons, the Queen is a woman, the King always a man.
